Why all the worldviews?

This question is a result of pain, of being unable to think through reality and deducing the worldview as it is.

When we are raised, we are raised with the believe what we learn, is how the world is. We continu our learning with some level of hope that one day we will be there. We don’t know where there is, but it has something to do with knowing, a form of deep understanding, a level of connection with the world as it is.

We have good reason to believe that we will get there, since every child is raised according to a system, regardless what system that is. Everything within our system has its order and value, leading to the idea that one day we will reach all or the knowledge, order and values there are.

However, the hope for arriving cracks when we meet other people that stand for knowledge, order or values that differ from our perspectives. Deep down we think that one day we will understand, so we don’t worry about it yet. However, as we continue our live, the opposite happens. The amount of views seems to expand exponentially. Not only do we discover that all our knowledge can be questioned, but even our friends can passionately think different about any theme we can think of.

Indifferent our reaction to the differences in the practicalities of life, deep down we are not satisfied. This is not what we hoped for. We did not go to school and grow into adults just to discover that anything can be subject to doubt. Deep down we refuse that all there is, is an intersubjective reality, meaning that we world is as we see it, not as it is.

This raises the question at what point the road of knowledge starts breaking apart. What causes the break? Why does the break happen? Can the different roads be brought back to some highway, or not? Are all roads equal, despite the different route they take? And so on.

The most fundamental problem we have entered here is the meaning of words:

  • When something we are conscious of is put into words, it comes ‘alive’
  • When alive, words exist in our mind and we can reason with it as if we experience the words by our senses
  • However, what does it mean when we understand words?
  • What is consciousness?
  • What are the words what we observe?
  • Are words what we observe?
  • Do the words only refer to what we observe?
  • Are words anything else?
  • How can we understand this difference, as if any of these two options is true?
  • How can we understand non sensory observable words like ‘truth, existence, love, god, emotions, etc.’?
  • What are they?

This is our first and biggest problem any human faces and becomes aware of in any stage of their life.
