Each religion proclaims an era. The question is: what era do we live in? Is it the era of the Jews, Christians, Islam, Mormons or Hinduism? Each era consequently has its consequences for the view of the other era’s and their topics. Buddhism and philosophers are not included, since their texts are about God, while religions have texts from God.
Jews
After the creation of the Earth, men has fallen (we ate from the apple in Paradise). To save mankind from the fall, God promises the Messiah.
Main question is: what is the status of the arrival of the Messiah? Has the Messiah come to earth already, or are we in the era of waiting for the return.
Since the Jew believe the latter, we live in the era of waiting for the Messiah. By obeying the laws, given to the Jews during the Exodus, we do the will of God. Obedience of the laws is a sign of believe.
Christians
Following the history of the Jews, next in time is Jesus, who said: ‘And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.’ (John 6:40)
If Jesus is not the Messiah, than who was he? The mentioned verse is one of many enigmatic statements which are hard to reduce to something normal. Jesus claims that he himself fulfilled the laws of Moses. Following Jesus means: love each other as we love ourselves.
Since the Messiah has come, we are in the era of the Christians: remain together, waiting for the return of Jesus, praising Jesus -who saves the sins- with the aid of the Holy Spirit. Hence the trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Muslims
The Muslims acknowledge all Jew and christian key persons as prophets: Moses, Abram, Isaac, Jacob, even Jesus is a prophet of God. Muslims only proclaim Jesus is not the son of God, the Holy Spirit is not God (rather of God) and they deny the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The revelations as received by Mohammed are the final words of God.
With these statements, there is no salvation by obedience of the laws of the Jew or salvation through believing Jesus Christ. The Muslim instead believe that the Comforter, promised by Jesus, is not the Holy Spirit, but the Comforter is Mohammed, the last prophet.
The era we live in is doing the will of God by following new laws and principles of prayers and justice, as received by Mohammed.
Mormons
The Christians believe that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, despite the disunity of the church, have moved people throughout centuries to believe in Jesus.
The Mormons believe that the endless fragmentation of christian churches is a result of corruption and theologically doctrine, known as The Great Apostasy. It was this fragmentation that brought the founder, Joseph Smith to ask God about Christian truth. Therefore, Joseph Smith received Visions about the truth of Christianity, which were the foundations for the Mormon church.
The Mormon era is believing in God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit and Mormon membership -as the right interpretation of Christianity- as necessity for salvation.
Hinduism
Hinduism biggest difference is that it is not related to the storyline of the Jew, Christian, Muslim and Mormon. It is a religion with its own origin, timeline, history and development. Many texts of the Hindu are myths and hymns, compared to the stories of the early Jew as a population.
The many Gods in Hinduism represent often different powers or parts of the earth. Earth is part of the universal cycles of creation, preservation, and dissolution (Kalpas). Men is part of the endless cycle of birth, death, rebirth (Samsara). Human objective is that the soul (Atman) is to be liberated (Moksha) from this cycle. To be liberated we must follow righteousness (Dharma). Although our future and destiny in the cycle is determined by our behaviour, our future unfolds as the result of the power of the law ‘good meets good, bad meets bad’ (Karma).
